Andrea Keller’s ongoing Monday night residency at the Jazzlab delivers a varied program including the Masters & Apprentices series, Five Below, the Composers Circle, Piano Club, Celebrating Voice and more.

Melbourne bassist Sam Anning released his 2018 album ‘across a field as vast as one’  (Earshift) to critical acclaim, receiving a Bell Award, Age Music Victoria, and Australian Music Prize Shortlist awards for jazz album of the year. 

‘Oaatchapai’ is the follow-up album to be released in Oct 2021. It will feature new music from Sam and a septet of Melbourne’s finest musicians, Mat Jodrell (tpt), Carl Mackey (alto sax), Julien Wilson (tenor sax, bs clari), Andrea Keller (piano, rhodes), Theo Carbo (guitar), Sam (bass), and Rajiv Jayaweera (drums).

Tonight’s concert will feature this band with Adelaide’s Kyrie Anderson replacing Jayaweera on drums.
